Alfred WONG 黃學揚

 

Wong has composed and arranged more than a hundred items, his music has been performed worldwide, including the USA, UK, Germany, Sweden, Russia, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Macao. He has awarded CASH Scholarships twice, his music Echoes was shortlisted for the finals of the SCO International Competition for Chinese Orchestral Composition 2006, Flame was selected in International Society for Contemporary Music 2009. Songs from China was published by the Hong Kong Children’s Choir, while Mountain and Flowing River was recorded by Modern Audio Limited. His recent commission includes theatre music The Eight Immortals' Adventures, jointly presented by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and the Hong Kong Repertory theatre. Besides, Wong has been invited as a guest conductor to perform in Taiwan, Guangzhou and Malaysia.

Alfred Wong received his bachelor and master degree in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He studied composition with Chan Wing-wah, piano with Cheng Wai, percussion with Lung Heung-wing and conducting with Ho Man-chuen. He is currently teaching courses at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Associate Degree of the Hong Kong Institute of Education and School of Professional and Continuing Education of the University of Hong Kong.

 

黃氏創作及編寫百多首樂曲,作品曾於美國、英國、德國、瑞典、俄羅斯、紐西蘭、澳洲、新加坡、馬來西亞、中國、台灣及澳門等地演出。曾兩度獲香港作曲家及作詞家獎學金,其作品《迴》入選新加坡華樂團國際作曲大賽2006決賽管風琴曲《焰》入選國際現代音樂節2009。合唱曲《中國之歌》由香港兒童合唱團出版樂譜,箏四重奏《山河流水》由現代音像灌錄唱片。近作包括劇樂《八仙過海》,由香港中樂團及香港話劇團聯合演出。此外應邀到、廣州、馬來西亞作客席指揮 

黃學揚畢業於香港中文大學音樂系,獲文學學士及音樂碩士學位,隨陳永華學習作曲、鄭慧學習鋼琴、龍向榮學習敲擊及何文川學習指揮。現於香港演藝學院、香港教育學院副學士及香港大學專業進修學院教授課程。
